Kood island ranks as the forth-largest island in the country. It lies among its 52-island chain in the Trad province,which is the close neighbor to the People's Republic of Cambodia.
The distance from central Bangkok is about 350 kilometers away. Because of its remote distance from urban, the island is renowned for its spectacular virginity. Koh Kood still maintains its natural perfection of white sandy beach, a line of hills abundantly covered with wild vegetation and fauna which have occupied this territory long before human dwellers.
In the past decades, only villagers and fishermen have been living on this island. The official figure at present shows that there are less than 1,500 villagers on the area of 127 square kilometers. The best time of year to visit Koh Kood is in early November until the end of February because of its relatively cool, dry and sunny weather. After the month of May is the monsoon season which typically be the heaviest rainy period.

|
Your time is your own at Koh Kood Laguna. A major decision is whether to take any of our recommended activities or enjoy doing them all. Try getting out to the sea on Laser sailboat, get the snorkeling gear to watch the colorful fish just off the beach. For a little bit more excitement, try banana boat, donut boat or water ski with a modest fee.
There is no swimming pool at Koh Kood Laguna. We offer instead a beautiful, refreshing, calm and much more interesting sea, just a few steps away.
Sports fishing :
Shore fishing is recommended as well as renting the boat day or night for trolling or dropline fishing over one of the reefs. The rent fee is only 3,000 Baht and calculated only from the cruising time.
Stars observation :
Stars observation is a romantic idea for late night activity. Because of its remote location so there will be less disturbance from the lights. You can enjoy this amazing scene with or without astrology knowledge.
Snorkeling :
Young coral reef wall is just off the beach for you to discover if you'd wish only to enjoy snorkeling. The boat is also available if you'd prefer SBUBA diving. The rent fee is only 3,000 Baht and calculated only from the cruising time.

| Transfer Service

By Car
There are two routes to Trad province, which are:
A. Bangna - Trad Road (No. 3) passing Cholburi - Rayong - Trad, 385 kilometers. (we do not recommend this route)
B. Bangna - Cholburi - Klang - Chantaburi (No. 344), 315 kilometers.
Begin from the Motor Way route at Rama 9 Road onto Srinakarin Road and pay the toll twice (60 Baht) and get off at the exit after the second tollbooth. The exit will lead you to Baan Bung - Klang and this is approximately half the way to Trad province. There is a gas station where you can have a short stop over. The total driving time should be around 3 and a half hours.
Once you get to Trad district area, keep on driving to Baan Aow Chor, which is another 20 kilometers away by following the sign to Baan Lam Sok to the left and turn right at Baan Aow Chor police station.
Rent a van
A 11 seat-van is available upon your request if you do not wish to drive by your self. The round trip charge from Bangkok is 5,000 Baht.
By Bus
Public bus is an alternative transportation to visit Trad province that is quite convenience. You can choose either normal buses or condition ones, which depart from Ekamai bus station several times daily.
Boats transfer
Finding a boat across to Koh Kood on your own is not an easy job and will be quite expensive especially during the tourist season but Koh Kood Laguna has prepared a return transfer boat for your trip and is already included in the package. You only need to come to the pier on the schedule.
The cruising time normally takes about 50 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the wind condition. There are different kinds of boats as follow;
- Speedboats with 8, 20 and 30 seats, which takes about 55 minutes cruising time.
- Tourist boat with 25 seats, which takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes cruising time.
Boat schedule
Every Friday - Saturday - Sunday - Monday and Wednesday.
Depart the pier at 7 am. and arrive Koh Kood about 9.15 am.
Depart Koh Kood at 1 pm. and arrive the pier about 3.15 pm. |
